SCOTLAND CANE & GRAIN 2008 TEANINICH 55.6%

Built in 1817, Teaninich was an early legal distillery, but as it was built by Napoleonic war hero and estate owner ‘Blind’ Captain Hugh Munro  Teaninich, one of the few distilleries in Scotland that operates without a washback. A thoroughly complex malt that is transformed with the addition of water, take time to get to know this malt!

Summary – The Finish in a Plantation Rum Barrel is transformative, adding to an already complex Highland Malt. The rum influence is heightened by the addition of water and enjoyed best with dark chocolate
Nose: Fresh grass, initially, yet moves into dark caster sugar notes thanks to the rum barrel finish
Palate: Viscous, chewy, oily, the addition of water brings out the complexity, a stunning combination, enjoy with dark chocolate
Aftertaste: lively (spiced) bison grass on the aftertaste which develops into a long, dark finish at cask strength
