Westward Single Barrel Selection Oloroso Sherry Cask is made from scratch at the Westward Whiskey Distillery in the heart of the American Northwest, where their hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters are the ideal environment to raise a world class whiskey. It began as all Westward’s whiskeys do – as artisanal American Ale, brewed using locally sourced two-row barley, ale yeast and a slow, low temperature fermentation process before it was distilled twice in custom low-reflux post stills designed to create a robust and flavorful spirit.
Westward Whiskey Single Barrel Selection Oloroso Sherry Cask enjoyed a primary maturation in heavily toasted and lightly charred new American Oak barrels before a secondary maturation in an Oloroso Sherry cask that previously held Palomino grapes and was sourced from a revered fourth generation producer in the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry region. Bottled at Cask Strength without any additives or colouring, this non-chill filtered.
