INTRODUCTION

As the highest rated American Single Malt, Westward is a whiskey of the elements, born of the culture, climate, and abundant resources of the American Northwest. Our distinct, rich, and brazen American Single Malts — the pinnacle of whiskey — are matured to perfection in Oregon, where our hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters are the ideal environment to raise a world class whiskey. At Westward, we give great reverence to the ingredients we find here naturally in the Northwest, and we pursue perfection by creating flavor in every step of our long, slow process. There are no shortcuts, and there in lies the beauty.

As an American Single Malt, Westward has reimagined what Single Malt can be, brewing it like a beer, distilling it like a traditional Single Malt, and aging it like a bourbon; the result is a robust spirit - the pinnacle of American whiskey.

PACKAGING OVERVIEW

Our new package design embodies the truest representation of the raw beauty and the awe-inspiring mountain ranges proudly standing in the American Northwest. We’ve created a bespoke glass bottle with edges and cuts to honor this natural landscape. Hints of copper link to our meticulous distilling process. The unique label shape reflects the mountain peaks, and the subtle background texture captures the authentic craftsmanship that goes into perfecting our liquid and its special connection to nature.

MASTER BRANDMARK 

 Our Master Brandmark reflects the craft and complexity of our Single Malt Whiskey. Layered with copper picking up on the warmth of our liquid color and connects us to our local two row barley along with our stainless copper still. Our brand name surrounds the iconic Westward W monogram, forever guiding us to the Northwest and heroing the trailblazing spirit at our core.

Brewing

We begin by brewing an artisanal American Ale from scratch, using locally malted barley, ale yeast, and a slow, low temperature fermentation.

Distillation

We distill twice in custom low-reflux pot stills that we designed to create a robust spirit, and transform our fresh, flavorful Ale into whiskey.

Maturation

We mature to perfection in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels selected to accentuate the bold characteristics of our whiskey.

Mingling

We mingle our barrels in small batches to achieve Westward’s signature flavor profile – balanced and bold.
