With a warm spring, the vines got off to an early start. The weather turned cool during bloom which impacted fruit set and resulted in fewer grapes per cluster. The size of the crop was further reduced as the dry soils, from a lack of late rains, led to smaller grapes. The weather was warm throughout the summer leading right into one of our earliest harvests ever. The resulting wines are fantastic as the smaller grapes and fine weather contributed to ideal ripeness with very concentrated flavors.
【Tasting Notes】
Rich, structured and impressively elegant, this wine has exquisite notes of dark cherry and boysenberry accompanied by hints of cedar and Herbes de Provence. The palate is as brilliant as the nose with gorgeous, lush dark red fruit flavors beautifully balanced with vibrant acidity. The finish is enduring and enticingly graceful. Collectors will recognize and appreciate the splendor of what is to come with more time in the cellar. Winery Chef Chris Kennedy suggests savoring this wine with the finest cuts of red meat or lamb. Roasted mushrooms with toasted garlic and caramelized onions is a highly recommended side dish.
