The Luján de Cuyo Board of the D.O.C is a nonprofit civil association formed by regional winemakers and grape grower was founded in 1989. Lagarde is one of the founders of this organization destined to protect, promote and disseminate, through the establishment of the first Denomination of Origin in Latin-America, the traditional way of producing Argentina ́s insignia grape, Malbec.
The wines regulated under the DOC , must meet strict requirements and regulations. Of eleven founding wineries, only two produce a DOC respecting the laws and quality regulations of the Board. Lagarde is one of them.
