Residual sugar: 0.07g/l
Appellation: HAUT MEDOC – CRU BOURGEOIS
– 65% Merlot
– 35% Cabernet sauvignon
Château Maurac, Cru Bourgeois in 1932, is located in the commune of Saint- Seurin de Cadourne. Its vineyard was divided and then increased again between 1984 and 1998. The reforming of the vineyard was the work of Mr Jean Gabas, made possible by the purchase of Château Le Trale’s vine plots. By this way the new vineyard is composed by two complementary ‘terroirs’. Nowadays the production is managed in the respect of these both ‘terroirs’ by Mr Gaudin and Mr Leroy since 1998.
Rich and unctuous, this concentrated wine is marked by notes of black fruits, berries and plums, with solid tannins that will give it a good ageing potential. From the north of Haut-Médoc, it preserves the tannic structure, similar to the wines of its neighbour, Saint-Estèphe. To drink from 2018.
