1. Carefully check the exterior and interior for dust or any unusual odor.
2. Do not fill the oak barrel with liquids other than chlorinated drinking water and ensure it meets guarantee qualifications.
If you need to use the barrel immediately, please pay attention to the following regulations :
1. Clean the interior and remove wood particles.
2. Soak in chlorine-free drinking water for 24 hours.
3. If the barrel leaks during this time, soak it for an additional 24 hours to allow the barrel to absorb.
4. In humid environments, do not soak for more than 48 hours to avoid mold growth.
5. If this oak barrel is intended for long-term storage of wine, please fill it with any lower-quality white wine for one week to allow the barrel to soak before adding the desired contents for storage.
If the oak barrel has not been used within 30 days of receipt, please note the following :
1. After soaking as described above, drain the water thoroughly by placing the barrel on its side.
2. Store in a cool, dry place with moderate humidity.
How to avoid leaks :
1. Ensure that the temperature of the storage location is similar to the temperature of the contents before filling the barrel.
2. If the temperature of the contents is lower than the storage location, it can create pressure and cause leaks.
3. Do not tighten the barrel straps too much before the contents have fully fermented.
