Benrinnes lies in the heart of Speyside and has been operational since 1826 and takes name from the mountain overlooking the distillery Ben Rinnes. Due to its demand within blended whiskies, it is rarely seen as a stand-alone single malt. Cane and Grain are delighted to bring this to life in Virgin Oak to create something of true rarity.
Summary – Butterscotch on the nose leading to a highly viscous adventure with a long-lasting oakiness. The Virgin Oak finish influences at every stage.
Nose: Butterscotch, toffee, Hazelnut, oak
Palate: Viscous, chewy, this lingers around the mouth and palate for a long time, a meaty malt texture is enhanced with the influence of the cask finish producing a long-lasting finish
Aftertaste: Finish is spicy, yet heavily wooded notes, not typical spiciness - a unique finish. The addition of a drop of water lengthens the finish and opens up even more oak notes on the aftertaste.
